Part 1 - Knowing God's Will for Your Life

Principles for Knowing God's Will for your Life

the Series

Good evening,

Have you ever wondered what God's will for your life is?  Do you find it hard to hear God speaking to you?  I would like to give you some Godly principles from the Bible that will help you know how to hear God's plans for your life.  Because I want to go deep with these principles, this will be a series of devotional each night for about a week.  I pray you will find them encouraging as well as helpful in growing closer to God.

"Walking with God"

When I was a young man, I seemed to continually wrestle with knowing what I wanted to do with my life.  I think the main reason I struggled was because I was not in God's will.  I went to Church, but I did not really ask God to help me with my everyday life.  It was always I had to go to school, go work, and at times have a little fun.  I figured that was just life.  Why would God need to be in the middle of all that?  God knows I have to work to live, and he knows I should go to school, and surely he also wants me to have some fun, right?

Well, this is where I get a little deeper.

You Must Walk with God.

If you are interested in knowing God's plan for your life, then you must learn to walk with God.  You need to develop a relationship with Him.  Christianity is all about having an relationship, not just showing up for Church to hear a message.  You have to have a desire to have a deep and personal relationship with God.  You must seek to know Him, and not just seek to know about Him.  You will grow in your relationship best by spending time in His Word, taking time for Prayer, and taking every opportunity you can to be involved in Church Ministries.  When you seek these opportunities in your life, God will begin the first steps to revealing His plan for You, to You!
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Final words:  If you truly have a desire to walk close with God, you will begin to start seeing, hearing, feeling His Will for your life.  You cannot hear him speaking if you are too busy, and not listening.

Tomorrow night we will discuss "Surrendering your will to God."  Note: I did not say surrender your life to Christ, but your actual will for your life.

Blessings,

E. Talk
