Troy DeFeo is a native resident of Garland, Texas. During his junior year at South Garland HS, he was asked to go on a weekend retreat with Young Life Ministries where he asked Jesus Christ to become Lord and Savior of his life. Troy continued his ministry with Young Life in Garland and Lubbock, Texas while attending Texas Tech University. During this time he was also involved in Navigators.

Troy graduated from Texas Tech University in 1995 with a degree in Family Counseling. Then moved back to Garland and served in several church plants over the years. In 1998 after serving as student and children’s pastor full time in Carrollton, Troy accepted a position as student pastor at Lyons Road Baptist. Lyons Road changed to Living Hope Baptist Church in 2003. Troy stayed in student ministry for approximately 22 years until he became the Associate and Family Pastor in 2010. Then in July of 2014, Troy was given the incredible honor to serve as pastor of Living Hope Baptist Church.

Being bi-vocational, Troy works in the Garland ISD as an educator and has been there since 2007. In 2000 he married to Jaime DeFeo, who is also an educator for Garland ISD, and together they have two amazing kids. Their daughter Camryn and son Pearce both attend Sachse High School.

Troy is not just a preacher, but a pastor to the people. Relationships, missions, discipleship, and fulfilling the Great Commission are Pastor Troy’s main mission goals. He desires for each new guest to feel loved and experience freedom in God’s grace as they come to worship at Living Hope. Then in time, to join Living Hope Baptist Church as part of the body of Christ, serving, giving, teaching, and be equipped for all that God has for them in their life. Troy’s desire is for each member to share their story and how Jesus has changed their life.
